MEET BILL

Longtime resident, business owner, family man. An everyday American, just like you.

I am Bill Engelbrecht. I am a 55-year-old business owner with experience and leadership in the healthcare field.  I am running to represent you as your next Clay County commissioner in District 2. My desire is to ensure that each resident of Clay County feels their voice is heard and represented in local government.

I was born in Meridian, Mississippi where my father served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. We later moved to Jacksonville, where I was raised on the Westside. After graduating N.B. Forrest High School in 1983, I moved to Clay County. Clay County is my home! I attended college and graduated with a degree in Computer Technology. I began work in the aerospace industry. After several promotions, I later went to work for a health care consulting firm. This led me to open my first business in 1994.

In my business, I assisted other health care companies with financial documentation pertaining to government oversight. In 2000, I purchased a small local health care agency with business in one county. I expanded its footprint to reach businesses in 23 Florida counties. With my success, I was able to create over a thousand jobs for local economies. I feel that my success in business was due to my strong leadership and communication skills. It is my desire to bring my leadership skills and business experiences to the Board of County Commissioners to represent the residents of Clay County!

I have always had a strong passion for my community and youth. While raising our children in Clay County, I stayed involved in the community. From 2000 to 2016, I served as a coach and mentor to youth at St. Johns Country Day School and Orange Park Athletic Association. I had the pleasure of serving as treasurer and later president of the Orange Park Athletic Association.

I am happily married to Tanya Engelbrecht, and we have four adult children. Our oldest, Austin is 27, our twin daughters Logan and Loren are 24, and our youngest, Evan is 22. All of our children have made us proud but humble parents.

I am a problem solver and solution-driven so with that, I have learned to think outside the box. I believe it is the hard work of dedicated, passionate Americans who truly make a difference. That is why I am running to represent the Clay County residents. Like you, I am an everyday American, but I promise to passionately represent your interests as your next commissioner in District 2. With your support and vote, we can make this happen!
